Concrete placing boom

A concrete placing boom is the final element of concrete mixture pipeline transportation system. It is designed to deliver the concrete mixture for discharging where and when required, therefore, similar to cranes, it must be equipped with at least two mechanisms: boom extension and rotation. The mechanisms can be both manually and hydraulically actuated, hence, booms are differentiated between mechanical (manually controlled) and hydraulically or electrically controlled. It is an ideal device to assist the trailer concrete pump and truck-mounted concrete pumps.

After the concrete is pumped to the high-rise building, how is the concrete delivered to different parts of the floor? If the conveying pipe is disassembled and assembled frequently, it will inevitably reduce the efficiency. To solve this problem, we recommend customers to use concrete placing boom. There is a pipeline inlet under the concrete placing boom, just connect the pipeline of the pump to the pipeline under the concrete placing boom, then the concrete can be placed at different positions on the floor by the concrete placing boom.

According to the different designs, there are three different types concrete placing booms as options for different usages.

1. Spider concrete placing boom

The spider concrete placing boom is an ideal equipment which can work together with stationary concrete pump. It is also named mobile concrete placing boom. Spider placing boom is easily installed on the jobsite and can connected to any of concrete pumps. This helps pour large areas without needing to work with the traditional heavy line systems.

Normally speaking, it is used for some building floors which is not so big occupation. It can be moved by a tower crane, that means, its weight is less than the maximum load of the tower crane which is installed onsite. After the concrete pouring work in the floor is finished, the spider concrete placer will be lifted by the tower crane and moved to another higher floor or another place.

In addition, we have developed and designed a mobile concrete placer boom with wheels and hydraulic outriggers, which makes it easier to move around the floor.

2. Self-climbing concrete placing boom

The self climbing concrete placing boom machine is fixed in the elevator shaft and is equipped with an automatic climbing mechanism. It is lifted by a hydraulic cylinder and automatically climbs in the elevator shaft, so that the concrete boom placer rises with the rise of the floor. It also can be fixed in the floor directly if there is not an elevator shaft. From the below pictures, you can see how the concrete placing boom is fixed.
